I began my career many moons ago, first working at a hospital doing discharge planning, then transitioning to a hospital serving the needs of those affected by mental health challenges. During this period, I also worked with at an agency that provided therapy to young adults living in group homes, who were dealing with a great many issues. From there, I began to work at a private counselling agency, providing therapy to preteens, teenagers, adults, and seniors. I also begin to provide supervision to new clinicians during this period. I then accepted a position as a Site Director at another agency that I have had for a great many years. I am presently working at SRI as a Clinician. Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness are generally the basis of my approach in therapy, though the approach is always geared towards the client. In establishing therapeutic relationships with individuals that have truly lasted, I can honestly say that the most important aspects are trust and respect. When a relationship is built on these two attributes, the process is a most positive one, and one that can grow.
