LESA DRAKE, LCSW

LESA DRAKE

Hello, my name is Lesa Drake. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in the field of mental health since 1999. I earned my master’s degree in Social Work from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Since my earliest memories, I've navigated experiences that propelled me to search within and summon the deepest parts of myself, which eventually gave me the strength to heal. I believe this strength, this inner resilience, exists and is accessible to anyone with the courage to seek it. I believe true and effective healing is ongoing and holistic. Holistic in the sense of acknowledging and addressing the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.

In my professional experience, I have worked in homes, schools, community settings, and I was the director of a psychiatric residential treatment facility. I have experience supporting adolescents, adults and families living with and managing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relational issues, trauma, mood, and adjustment disorders. I also have a passion for working with individuals in the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

My treatment approach is eclectic, trauma informed, and client centered. I use various modalities that are tailored to my client’s individual and specific needs. I draw from various therapeutic approaches such as psychodynamic, solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, EFT tapping, mindfulness, and others. My approach is also strengths based. I believe nothing is stronger than the human spirit, and within ourselves, we have everything we need to heal. My priority is to create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment while assisting my clients in accessing their inner strength and resources to overcome any obstacle.
