DEBORAH EBHUOMA, LCSW-R

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having 20+ years of experience working with children and adolescents, and in recent years, young adults. I have received my Master’s Degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

In the start of my career, I worked in a Community Residence, assisting students with skills needed to return home to their families. Since then, I’ve worked in various settings, such as Prevention Program, Schools, Head Start and outpatient mental health clinic. Services provided in these settings were providing individual and family therapy, assessments, medication referrals as needed, consultation with teachers and providing strategies to assist with behaviors in a classroom setting, attending Instructional Support Teams (IST) as well as Committee on Special Education (CSE) Meetings.

I help individuals with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety. I also help those with anger management concerns, grief and loss, self-esteem issues and self-harm behaviors. Parenting skills are also provided to assist parents with the tools needed to manage your child’s behaviors at home and or in the community.

My treatment modality used are Play Therapy, Behavior Modification, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma focus work.

Life can be challenging and we don’t always have control over what comes our way. Our past or traumatic experiences can also shape how we view the world and others around us. In these times, it can be difficult to found our way. Its my hope that we can work together using the strength you already have within to help you find your way and to heal emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually in order that you can overcome and lead a healthy, happy productive and fulfilling life. Thank you.
