RICHARD BAINBRIDGE, LPC

I have been working in the mental health field since 1991. I started with adolescents at a Residential Treatment Center in Denver Colorado. I have worked with a variety of clientele, in multiple settings, giving me a very diverse set of experiences.

I have a Masters in Social Work from Colorado State University and trained at the Family Therapy Training Center of Colorado. My back ground is heavily influenced from a systemic theoretical orientation; therefore, I believe that we are all parts of complex social systems that impact our well being in numerous ways.  I provide individual, couples and family therapy with this central belief.

I also believe in the Cognitive Behavioral Approach to therapy. There are things we have control over and things we do not. We are all influenced by our past experience and may not even be aware of how this has an effect on us both in a positive way and in more problematic ways. How we view things can make a difference.

I use motivational interviewing and solution focused techniques to help people lead more fulfilling, productive lives. What is most important is that you find a sense of empowerment, peace and well being. I believe that each person has a set of skills and strengths that can be utilized. As the client what you want and what works for you is what is most important. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or further interest in working with me
