Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management Services
When necessary, your SRI therapist may recommend a referral for an evaluation with a psychiatrist. SRI follows accepted professional standards that provide guidelines for when a psychiatric evaluation is appropriate.

SRI strongly encourages patients to maintain a relationship with a therapist even if medication has been prescribed. As we have discussed, the combination of medication plus therapy is generally accepted as the best practice for treatment.
SRI is proud that our staff includes Ira Herman, M.D., a highly experienced and very well regarded psychiatrist. Dr. Herman holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in Psychology where he graduated summa cum laude and was a Phi Beta Kappa recipient. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he was also a Fellow in Psychiatry. He went on to be the Clinical Director, Director of Education, and the Medical Director at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Cognitive Therapy.
